THE 'STORY OF TAVISTOCK'

The 'Tavistock Story' initiative is currently under review and it is the intention to provide further details based on a revised proposal once they have been fully developed and approved by the THI Partnership and Heritage Lottery Fund.

It is envisaged that the new proposal will involve the creation of new heritage and art trails and a community heritage performance event.

THI  CRAFT/SKILLS OPEN DAY -  date to be confirmed

Regrettably the Craft/Skills Open Day planned for Saturday 9 September 2017 featuring THI-supported projects and some of the traditional conservation skills involved in the repair and restoration of buildings of architectural and historic merit has had to be cancelled.  Although planning for the event commenced in late May 2017 it has proved difficult to secure commitment from sufficient businesses and skilled craftspeople to make the event worthwhile due to clashes with other craft and rural fayres taking pace on the same date.

It is now the intention to stage the event on an alternative date to be confirmed.

THI LECTURE EVENING - 2 November 2017

A  THI lecture evening is due to take place on Thursday 2 November 2017 in Tavistock Town Hall.  Please note that this date replaces the October date previously announced.  Details of the programme are currently being finalised but it will include presentations from architects and building surveyors involved with both current and completed restoration projects.

Further details will be posted on this website (www.tavistockthi.co.uk) and that of the Town Council (www.tavistock.gov.uk) as soon as possible.
